Pattaya is renowned for being Thailand’s largest entertainment and party city. Nestled in the Gulf of Siam and only 90 minutes from Bangkok, Pattaya is a favourite place to visit by tourists and Thai’s alike.
The city has a vibrant event and festival scene and there is something happening in Pattaya on a daily basis including sports, music,arts, cuisine and all manner of water based activities.
Listed below are some of the choice selections for April to June this year.
1812 Overture
April 9th
A classical treat performed in the famous Tiffany’s theatre in the heart of Pattaya.
The SSMS (Silpakorn Summer Music School) orchestra conducted by Hikotaro Yazak will delight classical music fans with their rendition of Tchaikovsky’s impressive 1812 Overture as well as Brahms Symphony no.2.
The event takes place on Saturday afternoon and will be a delight for officianos of Tchaikovsky and those just starting off with classical music.
Songkran
April 14th - April 19th
Songkran is celebrated in Pattaya for longer than any place other in Thailand. In the seaside resort it is almost a week long celebration.
And although there are celebrations all over the city the main place to be is Beach Road in central Pattaya.
The whole road is cordoned off to traffic from the Dolphin roundabout to the start of Walking Street. And all along the 3km length of Beach Road are numerous events and attractions to party all day and well into the night.
Top Of The Gulf Regatta
April 30 - May 4th
The Top of the Gulf Regatta is Asia's largest multi-class regatta and the highlight of the marine calendar. Hosted by Ocean Property and Ocean Marina Yacht Club A stand out feature in 2016 will be the large dinghy fleet. International and Thai rivalries will be renewed in the Laser 420 & 470 divisions. While the Thailand Optimist National Championships has been fundamental in the development of young sailors and this year over 100 will be taking part.
Pattaya Mountain Bike Challenge
A highly competitive and fiercely fought challenge race. Taking place at Jomtien Park and Pratumnak Hill the 4k race brings riders from all over Thailand.
The fun all starts around 10am and is open for competitors of all ages for the different events taking place.
If you don’t fancy taking place then it is a great event to watch.
Warp Music Festival 2016
June 25th
Billed as the first beach dance music festival in Thailand, Warp is back with a bang.
The first main act to be confirmed is Marshmellow which will play the main stage. Warp is one of the best EDM music festivals on the Asian scene featuring some of the most in demand and world famous DJ’s. Fully supported by Thailand’s best EDM / Progressive House and Techno DJ’s.
As well as quality music there is great seafood, bodyart, boat parties and numerous water based activities.
Although these are just the tip of the iceberg as far as fun and events go in Pattaya from April to June but they are a good place to start.
